Description
This year we are excited to offer the opportunity to fly a previously purchased flag. In order to fly a previously purchased flag, it must have been purchased at a previous North Texas Field of Honor. It must be fit to be flown under the United States Flag Code which requires a flag be a “fitting emblem for display” and it must be deliver to the North Texas Field of Honor on Friday, November 3rd between 1 – 4 pm.
Flags that are significantly faded, stained, or tattered may not be flown at the Field of Honor. We retain the right to evaluate any previously purchased flag that is delivered to be flown at the Field of Honor and return the flag to its owner if it is not fit to be flown. If the flag can be cleaned or repaired, it may be flown after it has been restored. This must be done prior to delivering the flag as we will not be able to clean or repair any previously purchased flags.
If a flag is returned because it is not fit to be flown at the Field of Honor, the payment will be considered a donation to the North Texas Field of Honor.
If your flag (or any US flag that you own) has reached the end of its lifespan and is ready to be retired, you may bring it to the Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, November 11 at 7 p.m. If you are not able to attend the Ceremony, you may deliver it to one of our volunteers and our partner Boy Scout Troop 1910 will handle the proper retirement of the flag.
